Inver College expansion project has reached an important milestone with the appointment of a design team to lead the €6m development for the school.
The project, led by Cavan and Monaghan Education and Training Board (CMETB) will see a major extension and building upgrade works to the school.
The significant programme of works includes the construction of a multi-room extension to the existing school building. The development will deliver a purpose-built special needs unit, eight multi-disciplinary rooms and accompanying office spaces as well as five general classrooms and ancillary bathroom facilities. In addition, the extension will also include six new offices, -to include a pastoral office, a guidance room and a first aid room.
Further works will be carried out on existing classrooms to convert them into a science laboratory and an art room. An outdoor play area and additional parking facilities will also be developed.
Architecture firm Oppermann Associates have been appointment to lead design team including Semple and McKillop, McGahon Surveyors, Downes Associates and Integrated Risk Solutions.
The appointment is welcomed as great news during recent times, Mr Cormac Flynn, Principal of Inver College said: “The announcement of the design team has given the school community enormous reassurance that the project is progressing and will be completed in the time frame set out. We are very excited by the whole project as it will provide Inver College students and staff with the most modern and high-end facilities. It is simply wonderful news for the entire school community.”
